1. UPON COMPLETION OF THE EXCAVATION, A FURTHER 0.7 m MIN. THICK SOIL LAYER BELOW THE FOUNDATION SHALL BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A CAPPING LAYER OF SELECTED FILL ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFICATION.

2.  BLINDING CONCRETE OF MINIMUM THICKNESS  7cm TO BE PLACED BELOW SLAB FOUNDATION.

3.  TYPICAL CONCRETE COVER IN RAFT TO BE 65 mm BOTTOM AND 45 mm TOP.

4.  ALL RAFT REINFORCEMENT TO BE CONTINUOUS. SEE TYPICAL DETAILS FOR  TENSION SPLICE LENGTHS.

5.  THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ON SITE ALL DETAILS INCLUDING LEVELS, SETTING OUT POINTS, DIMENSIONS, SOIL CHARACTERISTICS AND GROUND WATER TABLE PRIOR TO OR DURING CONSTRUCTION AS APPROPRIATE AND SHALL PROVIDE SUCH INFORMATION TO THE ENGINEER FOR REVIEW.

6.   SOIL TO BE EXAMINED BY ENGINEER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION ONCE EXCAVATION IS COMPLETE.

7.  CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE ALL FOUNDATION OPENINGS WITH ARCHITECTURAL AND E&M DRAWINGS.

8.  FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALL PITS AND MANHOLES AND FOR REINFORCEMENT INTERRUPTED BY HOLE REFER TO TYPICAL DETAILS.

9.  AT THE LOCATION OF PITS/MANHOLES THE LEVEL OF THE BOTTOM OF THE FOUNDATION SHALL BE LOWERED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF SLAB OF 0.65 m.
